Reflections

There are times that I have often wondered why we humans have a tendency to want what is not good for us, and do not take care of the things which we desperately need to, and why exactly, do we? It seems that it is not that we want to seek something that might hurt us, and forget about the things we need to keep us going in the right direction; we just can't help ourselves, and always do the right thing. We humans are just that; human and we do not always think things out, we just do it, or not do it, and then suffer the conquencies.

Sometimes we are kind of innocent, if that is possible. Most of the time, if we have any intelligence at all, we know what is good us and what is not. What is appropriate to say or do; and what is not. Danger always gives a sign, yet we sometimes ignore it. Some people enjoy danger; yet some love a comfort zone, and others just go along for the ride.

Think on these things.....

  • We know that we can't accomplish much in our professional life if we are negligent working in a manner which leads to success.
  • We certainly can't be healthy, if we have failed to take care of these mortal bodies as we know we should. How many times have we heard that gaining too much weight is bad for our health? How many time have we been warned to get our annual check ups that we hate? Oh well, I'll do it next week. We won't have an excuse to give our family; when we feel faint because our blood sugar is up.
  • How many times have we been warned to get the tire changed; there seems to be a leak? We certainly will remember when we have a blowout on the way to work and the cell phone is dead.
  • How many times have we bought something that we didn't need, instead of putting that money into a savings account for something we may need later.
  • How many times has little Mary asked you to come to school for show and tell? When she is 16; you might look back and wish you had.
  • When is the last time you gave your spouse some extra time for just talking or should I say listening? You might be surprised what you find out.
  • When is the last time you slowed down long enough to see how green the trees are this spring?
  • Have you stopped to smell the roses this year?
  • Have you taken the time to read a new book or at least start one?
  • Have you taken the time to go for a walk alone in God's nature and thank Him?
  • When is the last time you have exercised?
  • When is the last time all of your family has eaten together?
  • When is the last time you have visited your parents or parent?
  • When is the last time you made some time for yourself?
  • When is the last time you sat down, became quite, and just cleared your mind?
  • When is the last time you knew what you were doing at every moment in time and knew it was the right thing?
  • When is the last time you listened to your inner self; your soul?

Life is not something we should muddle through without thought on a daily basis, but we get bogged down, in a hurry and forget that we must take care of, not only our bodies; but our mind and our souls also. Life is full for most, those who work with a family, ailing parents and the many different directions of life that we have. Life is life on a daily basis and it is not empty for anyone. Schedules are full, traffic is outrageous, and there is not enough hours in a day.

It is time to slow down, take time to smell the roses and enjoy each moment...we never know how many we have left.

Life Quotes

Ralph Waldo Emerson
So much of our time is preparation, so much is routine, and so much retrospect, that the path of each man's genius contracts itself to a very few hours.

Samuel Johnson
Some desire is necessary to keep life in motion

Mark Twain
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover

Nothing is worth not living in the moment; being thankful of the moment and knowing you are where you should be. When life gets too busy to live in the moment; it is time to slow down and make sure we are doing what is right for your life...taking care of the body, mind and soul.
